Eligibility

Criteria of Eligibility for B.E Admission

 Academic Eligibility :

 

  • For admission to B.E./B.Tech. Courses: The student should have passed Karnataka 2nd PUC /12th standard or equivalent examination with Physics and Mathematics along with Chemistry / Bio-Technology / Computer Science / Electronics / Biology as optional subjects with English as one of the languages of study and obtained a minimum of 55% of marks in aggregate in the optional subjects. In case of candidates belonging to Karnataka Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe and other Backward Classes (Category I, 2A,2B, 3A and 3B), the minimum marks for the purpose of eligibility will be 50% of marks in aggregate in the optional subjects in the qualifying examination KCET(Karnataka Common Entrance Test)/An attempt in the COMEDK Entrance Test seeking admission to Engineering courses is considered adequate for figuring in the rank.
  • The eligible candidates (other than the students of P.U.E. Board, and C.B.S.E exam passed in Karnataka) seeking admission to the first year Engineering course should obtain the eligibility certificate, from the concerned college. Further the Principals of Engineering colleges are authorized to issue provisional eligibility certificates to the candidates after duly confirming academic.

  • Diploma candidates are not eligible to take the Entrance Test as there are no lateral entry admissions.
    Note: However the candidates shall submit the original marks card of the examination during counseling for proving their eligibility.

AGE & NATIONALITY

  • Applicants should have completed 17 years of age as on 31st December, 2014. No relaxation of age will be allowed. The candidate must be an Indian Citizen.

How to Apply for Management Quota Admission

    • Formal Application Forms for admission can be obtained  from Yelamma Dasappa College of Engineering, Bangalore on payment for Rs. 1000. Application forms can also be downloaded from the College website (www……………..) Such downloaded applications have to be submitted along with a DD of Rs. 1000/- in favour of Yelamma Dassappa College of Engineering at  Bangalore

    • Applications submitted to the Corporate Office should be complete in all respects. The candidate should fill in all the items in the application form in his/her own handwriting and applicant & the parent should sign in the specified areas.

    • All the following copies of certificates shall be attested by Gazetted Officer / Head of the Institution where the student had studied

                 • Copy of10th Certificate as proof of the Date of Birth. 
                 • Copy of 12th Standard mark list.
                 • Copy of Entrance Admit Card.
                 • Copy of Entrance Score.
                 • In case where the candidates claim any sort of reservation or                 special consideration,documents to prove such claims
  • Application not accompanied by documents in proof of claims of reservation will not be considered in such categories.

  • Documents / Certificates furnished after submission of the application will not be  entertained under any circumstances. Late and incomplete applications will be rejected. The college will not be responsible for any postal delay or loss of application during transit. Candidates are advised to keep a copy of completed application form for further reference.

  • Furnishing false information/ particulars would result in the forfeiture of the candidature as well as cancellation of admission and will attract the relevant provisions of criminal law of the land.

Procedure for Selection under Management Allotment

    • Admission is strictly on the basis of merit. 50% of the total seats in B. Tech Courses are set apart for centralized  allotment by the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations.15% of seats within sanctioned intake is provided for NRI Category and given on the basis of marks obtained for Physics and Mathematics in 12th Standard. For the remaining 35% seats, rank list is prepared on basis of index marks obtained by combining the percentage marks of Mathematics and Physics at the Plus Two level and the percentage score obtained in the Karnataka Common Entrance Examination (KCET) /COMED K with 50% and 50% weight age respectively. The  marks obtained in the State Board / CBSE / ICSE for each subject will be normalized with reference to the highest marks obtained by applicants from the respective Board.

    • Merit list for the admission will be published in the website and college notice board.The date of counselling will be published in the website and college notice board. No separate communication will be sent on this account. Candidates are
